The Danish Arts Foundation has now appointed the curator for the foundation’s upcoming international design event MINDCRAFT, which takes place annually in Milan, Italy. The 2018 exhibition will be curated and designed by the award-winning Danish designer Ditte Hammerstrøm.

The Danish Arts Foundation’s Committee for Crafts and Design Project Funding has placed Ditte Hammerstrøm in charge of curating and staging the internationally recognized exhibition concept MINDCRAFT, which annually showcases some of the best in Danish design and crafts to the international design industry in connection with the world’s leading design event ‘Fuori Salone’, the Milan Design Week.

Curator Ditte Hammerstrøm says:

‘With the exhibition I aim to provide a space for talent and highlight the core competencies of the trade in the form of site-specific works driven by a unique grasp of material properties and high artistic quality and craftsmanship. Works of a sensuous and surprising nature, both handcraft and mindcraft.‘

About Ditte Hammerstrøm

Designer Ditte Hammerstrøm has been active for many years, both in Denmark and in international contexts, with uncompromising and poetic furniture designs that operate at the intersection of free and applied art and between sculpture and furniture. Ditte Hammerstrøm has also been among the selected designers to exhibit at previous MINDCRAFT exhibitions.
