The very first MINDCRAFT exhibition was shown in Zona Tortona during Milan Design Week in 2008. The aim was to highlight and promote works from some of the best craftspeople and designers on the contemporary Danish craft scene. MINDCRAFT08 featured exceptional works crafted by talented individuals operating within the cross-field of art, craft and design. 12 of Denmark’s top designers presented their ideas on new and innovative craft and design.

The MINDCRAFT concept portrays the development from Handcraft to Mindcraft – a new conceptual design attitude among Danish craftspeople where storytelling, reflection and critical comments are combined with craft skills and aesthetic qualities.

MINDCRAFT08 was organized by Danish Crafts and curated by Danish architect Karen Kjærgaard.

The exhibition was co-funded by the Danish Ministry of Culture and the Danish Arts Agency.
